I opened my study-book (Covenant: Trusting the Covenant, lesson 21),
and was startled to find myself there—
For poets, artists, writers, and dancers who bear the beauty of God’s hope to others
“Don’t panic. I’m with you.
There’s no need to fear for I’m your God.
I’ll give you strength. I’ll help you.
I’ll hold you steady, keep a firm grip on you.”
—Isaiah 41:10, from The Message
This way of my days doesn’t feel like steady (though some days of late have felt like bo-ring). But “God, how do you want to use my art?” is now woven in my daily prayers. Perhaps sensing the firm grip will follow.
(Besides, I bet my “Strategic” self doesn’t really want steady…what’s the equivalent of steady that also mixes things up?)
